OUR GOAL

Building a strong foundation for the next generation of cyclists, our mission is to create a development and professional gravel team that provides the support, resources, and opportunities needed for riders to turn their passion into a career.

As a RIPPLE member, you’re not just supporting riders, you’re helping make cycling more accessible for the future. MESA Cycling allocates a portion of the funds to provide bikes and gear to clubs and athletes in need. Because cycling should be a sport for everyone.

FAQ

WHY GRAVEL?

Gravel cycling is the only mass-start discipline in the sport where amateur riders can line up alongside their idols, such as Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert. These events typically draw around 1,500 participants, creating a unique and inclusive racing atmosphere. However, since gravel racing isn’t widely broadcast on television, it lacks major sponsorship and external funding. Despite this, the sport is rapidly growing, and securing proper financial support will be essential to sustaining its momentum and expanding its reach.

WHEN ARE YOU LAUNCHING?

We're aiming to launch the team in 2026, with a goal of securing 80% of the funding by July 2025. This early financial commitment will allow us to offer rider contracts well in advance, providing them with stability and security.

Typically, these contracts aren’t signed until September or October, but our approach ensures a more structured and supportive environment for our athletes.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH MY MONEY?

A significant portion of the funds will go directly toward supporting the athletes. The PRO Gravel team will set a new standard by ensuring equal pay for all riders, regardless of gender, making it the first team where everyone earns the same. While the development team won’t receive salaries, we will fully fund multiple trips to help them gain experience and exposure.

Beyond supporting our teams, we’ll invest in the broader cycling community. This includes hosting workshops, donating gear and bikes to those in need, and driving initiatives to make cycling more sustainable. One key step is partnering with a clothing supplier that specializes in fully recyclable cycling apparel, ensuring a greener future for the sport.
